Paul Walter Hauser Won’t Reveal Which ‘Fantastic Four’ Character He Is Playing
Marvel Studios’s upcoming film The Fantastic Four is turning into quite the star-studded affair.
The long-awaited arrival of the First Family of Marvel into the Marvel Cinematic Universe will feature a cast of Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), Ben Grimm (The Thing), Ralph Ineson (Galactus) and Julia Garner (Shalla-Bal/The Silver Surfer).

Also making his MCU debut in The Fantastic Four will be Paul Walter Hauser, who will be playing an undisclosed role.
Hauser Is Not Revealing His Character
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Hauser was asked to share more about what character he will be playing in The Fantastic Four. Unfortunately, the actor did not let the cat out of the bag.

“I know what that question is leading to, which is the answer as to which character I’m to play. So all I can say is that I, in some iteration, am in the movie ‘The Fantastic Four’ until I get fired or recast. So I can’t say anything about the character I’m playing, but know that it is in the sort of lexicon and mythology of ‘The Fantastic Four’ stories. And it’s a very distinct character that I’m excited to play and I’m kind of mapping out what I’m doing with that right now,” he said.
While Hauser is keeping his cards close to his vest, the actor reveals that he has been campaigning to join a cinematic universe for quite some time. Needless to say, he is excited.

“But I’ve always wanted to be a part of a cinematic universe. I spent a lot of time trying to campaign to play the Penguin in the Matt Reeves film, and that, of course, went to Colin Farrell, and he did a masterful job, and it was totally different than what I was trying to do. So I really appreciate Marvel giving me the time of day and entrusting a role to me in some capacity that I get to be a part of that family. I’m really excited to partake.”
H.E.R.B.I.E. Makes Sense, But So Does This Villain
Based on Hauser’s comments, it sounds like the actor will be playing a familiar Fantastic Four character. Rumors continue to swirl that the mystery character is Reed Richard’s robot assistant, H.E.R.B.I.E.

While the theory makes sense, it would seem strange that Marvel was keeping such a tertiary role under wraps.
Perhaps then, Hauser will be portraying a character with a more central role? Maybe the villain, Mole Man?

For now, we will just have to wait and see.
The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
