Chris Pratt Reveals His One Condition For Returning to the MCU
Just days after saying he “100%” wanted to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Star-Lord, the actor has changed his tune slightly.
The last time we caught up with Pratt’s Peter Quill, the former Guardian of the Galaxy had left the intergalactic team to return to Earth.

While other former Guardians of the Galaxy stars, including Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, have publically stated that they are done with the franchise, Pratt has stated that he is willing to return.
Pratt Discusses His Marvel Future
In a recent interview with IGN, however, the Garfield star admitted that it will be strange to play Star-Lord without Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

“It’s hard to imagine what that would look like, so I guess I’d just have to take it on a case-by-case basis,” he said. “Of course, I’d be open to it. I love the character. It changed my life. If it came along and it made sense and I felt like it was a story worth telling, then I’d certainly, certainly be open to it. I love playing Star-Lord.”
So, what would it take to get Pratt to return?

“But it’d be tough to do without James,” he admitted, “and you’d have to find an apparatus by which to maintain the tone that he so expertly creates, and it’s kind of hard because he’s truly one of a kind. And it would have to be with his blessing, so we’ll see.”
What’s Next For Peter Quill?
As Gunn has previously stated that he would like to see the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise continue, it seems unlikely that the newly minted head of the DC Universe would stand in Pratt’s way.
Still, for the first time, Pratt has shown some hesitancy in returning to the MCU.
Perhaps then, Peter Quill’s next adventure is not the certainty that many believed.
