Alaqua Cox Reveals Where She Would Like to See Maya Lopez Appear Next
At the conclusion of Marvel Studio’s Echo, Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez was transformed from a tortured villain to a true Marvel hero.
Echo re-introduced audiences to the seedy underworld of New York City, where Wilson Fisk reigns supreme and Daredevil patrols the streets. It was a more grounded approach to storytelling that Marvel had been sorely missing.

Released under the new Marvel Spotlight banner, the series was meant to focus on “street level” characters, which audiences could enjoy without having kept up with the larger MCU.
Where Will Maya Appear Next?
With Daredevil: Born Again on the horizon and the Netflix Defenders Saga now considered canon, it looks like Marvel will continue to tell more “street-level” stories. So, will Maya play a role in these future stories?
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Cox shared where she would like to see Maya appear next. Through an ASL interpreter, she said:

“I can see Maya appearing in more Daredevil stuff for sure. And, maybe the new Avengers is something I would like to think about. That would be awesome to see that happen. So, fingers crossed.”
Will Echo be an Avenger
While Maya would obviously fit right in Daredevil: Born Again, there is also a chance that she could explore the broader MCU.
With Avengers: 3 and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, Marvel’s heroes are set to come together once again.

Additionally, Kamala Khan seems to be recruiting the Young Avengers, another fit for Maya.
Who Would Cox Like to Team Up With?
When it comes to the character that Cox would most like to see Maya team up with, her answer was a little different.
“The first person that comes to mind is WandaVision or Scarlet Witch. I’d love to see her.”

While Wanda may have perished at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as any Marvel fan knows, death isn’t always final.
Perhaps then, we will get a chance to see Maya and Wanda share the screen after all.
