This Retro Walt Disney World Shirt Is As Good As It Gets

Having just got back from a trip to Walt Disney World, I was amazed at the amount of retro-looking merchandise that Disney has created for its gift shops.

From pins to water bottles to apparel, I saw all kinds of merchandise that brought back a flood of memories from the past.

Even Disney’s walk-around characters have gotten into the act, with Max Goof meeting guests in his Powerline costume, and Goofy donning his A Govie Movie costume.

All in all, at Walt Disney World, what’s old is certainly new again.

Retro Walt Disney World Shirt

This shirt is as retro as it gets, taking Walt Disney World guests back to the park’s beginning.

The front of the shirt features the small Walt Disney World “D” logo on the pocket.

The real magic, however, happens on the back of the shirt.

The center of the back of the shirt features a silhouette of Cinderella Castle. As most of you know, when the resort opened in 1971, the Magic Kingdom was the only park in operation. Because of this, Cinderella Castle served as an icon of not just the Magic Kingdom, but Walt Disney World as a whole.

Beneath the silhouette of Cinderella Castle, the Walt Disney World “D” logo is prominently featured. This logo was used early in the resort’s history and has really made a comeback in recent years.

Last but not least, we have the year 1971- a clear reference to the year that Walt Disney World opened.

I should also mention that I love the blue and yellow color scheme of this shirt and the simple and clean design.

All in all, if you are looking for a retro Walt Disney World shirt, this is as good as it gets.
