New “Seas the Plant-Based Summer” Cupcake is a Disappointing Wash-Up at Disney World
Summer is upon us everyone, and so many sweet treats have just surfed into Walt Disney World! We’ve been trying Pride treats and Pixar treats, but there are still so many fun tastes of summer to sample yet. Right now, our MickeyBloggers are over at the All-Star Resorts, where a new, plant-based cupcake has just washed in the restaurants.
Wanna see what we thought of it? Read on!

Seas the Plant-based Summer Cupcake
This here is the Seas the Plant-Based Summer cupcake. Sounds pun-ny, and we love the fact that it’s plant-based!

Seas the Plant-based Summer Cupcake
Disney’s All-Star Resorts are usually awesome when it comes to fun new cupcakes, so we did have high hopes for this new treat going in, however, I can’t say we felt the same after trying it out.
But, first things first. To begin with, let’s check out this presentation!
Ok, so not the best start. As we saw from the cake’s menu card, this was meant to be piled high with wavy, ocean-inspired frosting! However, the plastic case it comes packaged in smushed the whole thing down quite significantly, leaving the whole cake looking a bit flat.

Oh well, it’s the taste that counts… right?

According to the menu, this treat is a basic chocolate cupcake – made with all plant-based ingredients, of course – topped with a wave of vanilla buttercream. The colorful sprinkles give the cake a vibrant, summery vibe, and those tried-and-tested flavors sound like they’d make a classic hit. So, were we on to a winner here?

Seas the Plant-based Summer Cupcake
Unfortunately, no. It was our MickeyBlogger Kayla who tried this out for us, and disappointingly reported back that it was a bit of a miss in her eyes.
We’ll start with the cake, which was apparently very, very thick – a bit like a dense bread, according to Kayla. It was quite tasty, with a mild yet unsweetened chocolate flavor, but retained somewhat of a powdery aftertaste. What a shame!

Moving on to that smushed-up icing, which is where the real disappointment lay. According to Kayla, this frosting hadn’t been blended properly, meaning she could identify chunks of raw ingredient throughout!
Definitely not something we want in a treat!
As Kayla summarized, we’re usually big fans of plant-based and other vegan foods at Disney, but unfortunately this isn’t something we’d recommend.
However, if you want to try it out for yourself anyway, you can find it on the menu at the End Zone Food Court in Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, there, it cost $5.49.
Oh well!
