NEW Tommy Hilfiger x Disney Collection Coming Soon
Disney is currently celebrating its big 100th anniversary and there are a lot of different festivities!
We’ve seen special food, shows, merchandise, costumes, and more in the parks. There’s even a museum exhibition going on!
As you probably know, Disney loves to capitalize on any type of celebration with merchandise, and this anniversary is no different. Now, there’s a new Disney collaboration coming out!
Disney x Tommy Hilfiger
In honor of Disney’s 100th Anniversary, Tommy Hilfiger is doing a collab with the mouse! You will soon see Mickey and friends on some preppy clothing.
The collection will be released on shopDisney on June 1st at 6AM PT, or 9AM ET. Thanks to WWD, we also have a look at some of the pieces coming, as well as more info.
The characters in the collection will be drawn in manga, which is a Japanese comic cartoon style.
“An iconic anniversary, an iconic brand and a collaboration with their most iconic characters — there is no better way to join fans around the world in celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary. Colliding Mickey and friends with the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA has been one of our most fun collaborations to date. It’s a collective edition of our favorite prep classics,” said Tommy Hilfiger.
There will be 94 styles in the collection for men and women, 42 styles for kids, and 14 Adaptive styles. We’re not sure if the full collection will launch on shopDisney, but we would assume only select pieces will if it follows the same pattern as other designer Disney collars.
You should expect some fun variations of Tommy Hilfiger’s rugby shirt, blazer, and chinos, which will include details like Jacquard prints of a reinvented TH Monogram and Mickey’s silhouette.
You can see also Manga Mickey in the brand’s signature Ithaca stripe on shirts and shirt dresses. Allover prints reference the work of original Disney artists with ink blots and hand-drawn sketches. There is even a Minnie Mouse polka dot that you can see on a cricket jersey and a woven jumper.
Adaptive pieces in the collection include T-shirts, polos, and dresses with easy magnetic closures, along with pants and shorts with pull-up loops to help people that have limitations.
The price range for this collaboration is between $34.50 and $449. The collection will be available for one season at select Tommy Hilfiger stores and on tommy.com, shopDisney, and at Disneyland and Disney World.
Disney artists made the drawings in the collection. It was a collaborative project with Shigeki Kanda (director, Character Art, APAC), Kuzuhiro Murase (art manager, Character Art, APAC), and Yuki Salto (senior designer, creative design, APAC).
