Make-a-Wish Child Embraces Walt Disney World’s Wild Side
May brought an incredible milestone for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and its partnership with the Walt Disney Company. Early in the month, the company granted its 150,000 wish. To close out the month today, Disney shared another special Make-a-Wish moment recently with one wild wish.

Many Walt Disney World wishes involve a special experience or unique character meet-and greet. For Wish Kid Sutton though, he hoped to meet the creatures that make Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park so unique.

A fan of “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom,” a popular, original series on Disney+, Sutton wished to meet the animals that have become beloved household names thanks to the show. During his wish, Sutton visited the Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet, a remarkable facility tucked away at the theme park.

There, Sutton and his family met animal care experts, veterinarians, and critical cast members involved there on Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team. Alongside one of those expert vets, Sutton also observed a procedure in the veterinary treatment room (we also highly recommend journeying out to the facility for this very same reason).

Not only did Sutton have this memorable and inspirational experience, he also celebrated his birthday with cast members made famous by the show as well as the animal residents at Conservation Station, based on pictures shared today on Twitter by @DisneyParks.

In the images, Disney Parks shared a precious behind-the-scenes moment when Sutton and his family had a chance to meet one of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s famous aardvarks, a species that brought one of the first season’s most darling stories.
Of course, we wish Sutton and his family nothing but the best and hope that his wild wish is nothing short of life-changing.
