Crowds Flood Disneyland for Splash Mountain’s Final Day of Operation
Good morning from Disneyland Park, folks, where we’re expecting quite an emotional day ahead!
Yup, it’s finally arrived — the final day of Splash Mountain’s operations. After today, the ride will be closed permanently to be re-imagined as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a new concept that will remove all the flume’s iconic theming in place of some magical and modern new upgrades.
Especially since Magic Kingdom’s Splash attraction plunged its final plunge back in January, fans have been tentatively anticipating today’s final farewell to the West Coast’s version of the classic attraction.
So, as expected, the crowds of guests attending Disneyland Park this morning are extremely high, with everyone wanting to experience one last ride, and soak up some of that farewell feeling!
Our MickeyBloggers are among the masses and have sent over a peek at the busy lines this early morning in California…
These images are showing the lines of guests queueing up at the Grand Californian’s security check, as well as the crowds at the park’s main entrance, and those with Early Entry access.
There sure are a lot of people!
The sky is pretty gray in Anaheim this morning, but it’s no bother really. We’ll all be getting soaked from the attraction anyway!
When Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain closed back in January, the crowd levels at Magic Kingdom were incredible, lasting from rope drop right through to park close. All day, guests were cheering as they watched the boats plunge down the flume, and we’re expecting a similar sort of atmosphere here today in Disneyland!
The gates to Critter Country will be opening at 8am PT for all guests to access the ride’s area, and your MickeyBloggers are first in line.
Be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog and our social channels as we keep you posted on the day ahead. It’s sure to be an emotional yet exciting adventure, and we’re happy to have you along as we experience the final day of Splash Mountain!
