The movie already took in $10.3 million in previews on Thursday, ranking it as the seventh-highest haul for a movie rated G or PG.
This is a great indicator that the film is on track to gross over $100 million over this Memorial Day weekend.

The Little Mermaid opened with mixed reviews from critics but fans have not been deterred.
A strong opening weekend could potentially put The Little Mermaid at the top of Disney live-action remakes surpassing 2019’s The Lion King and 2017’s Beauty and the Beast.
