May 22nd featured the opening of New Tomorrowland, the release of an Indiana Jones movie, and an event at the Magic Kingdom.

The Army Mascot Released (1942)
On this day in 1942, the Pluto cartoon The Army Mascot was released.

The Walt Disney Travel Company Incorporated (1968)
On this day in 1968, the Walt Disney Travel Company was incorporated in Florida.
The company would work with travel agents and individuals to plan vacations to the yet-to-be-open Walt Disney World Resort.
The Disney Store Manhattan Opens (1986)
On this day in 1986, The Disney Store opened on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue.
The store was the largest Disney Store in the world to date.
New Tomorrowland Opens (1998)
On this day in 1998, Disneyland’s New Tomorrowland opened.

New attractions opening this day included Honey, I Shunk the Audience, and Rocket Rods. Also opening on this day, was Red Rockett’s Pizza Port.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Dedicated (2001)
On this day in 2001, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was officially dedicated.

On hand for the festivities were six cast members from New Yor Cit’s production of The Lion King.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Released (2008)
On this day in 2008, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opened in theaters.

The film saw Harrison Ford don his iconic fedora for another adventure.
The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story Released (2009)
On this day in 2009, The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story was released.

Coolest Summer Ever Takes Place (2015)
On this day in 2015, Coolest Summer Ever took place at the Magic Kingdom.

The 24-hour party kicked off at 6 a.m. on May 22 and ended at 6 a.m. on May 23.
Zenimation Debuts (2020)
On this day in 2020, Zenimation debuted on Disney+.
