Have You Noticed These Fun Easter Eggs on ‘Living With the Land’ at EPCOT
I’ve always loved the mellow boat ride that is “Living With the Land” nestled on the bottom floor of the Land Pavilion near Soarin’ at EPCOT. Meandering through EPCOT’s incredible greenhouses and viewing the innovative methods of cultivation employed is a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.
Our MickeyBloggers jumped on board Living With the Land this weekend and captured a video featuring a few of the many fabulous Easter Eggs you’ll find aboard the ride. So next time you’re at EPCOT, see how many of these Easter Eggs you can find on your own!

- A Nod to Test Track – As you are checking out the cornucopia of fruits and veggies from around the world be on the lookout for a tire just barely visible. This is a tribute to another fantastic EPCOT attraction – Test Track!
- One Little Spark of Inspiration – Also along the boat root you’ll see our favorite dragon of the imagination – Figment! He waves to the crowd in front of a tiny recreation of the Imagination Pavilion.
- A Replica of the Land Pavilion – This next one is slightly harder to find. At the base of one of the trees in the greenhouse, you’ll find a green replica of The Land Pavilion itself. How meta is that!?
- The Seas With Nemo and Friends – Take a closer look at the blue fountain in the greenhouse and you’ll see a little tribute to Nemo and Co!
- A Tribute to the Universe of Energy – Ellen’s Energy Adventure may be a thing of the past but if you look closely among the planters you’ll find a wind turbine as a gentle nod to the attraction that was formerly housed in the location of Comic Rewind.
- EPCOT’s Iconic Spaceship Earth – See if you can spot a tiny silver replica of Spaceship Earth also peeking out from one of the greenhouse planters.
We’ll leave you with a few other fun facts about EPCOT’s Living with the Land attraction.
- The attraction first opened on October 1, 1982.
- From 1982 – 1993 the ride was actually called Listen to the Land
- Animatronics used in Living With the Land were actually created for a Magic Kingdom attraction called Western River Expedition that would never see the light of day.
- The menus at Sunshine Seasons and the Garden Grill Restaurant serve fresh produce and seafood grown right in the pavilion.
- USDA Scientists have actually been known to be in residence at the pavilion to conduct research on growing and maintaining crops.
- When the ride first opened it used to be narrated by live cast members rather than audio recording.
