A Closer Look at the Adventures by Disney Inspired by ‘Encanto’ to Colombia
As we reported last week, Adventures by Disney revealed an all-new itinerary to Colombia for the 2024 season inspired by the hit Disney movie Encanto! Today, Disney has released some exciting new details about this once-in-a-lifetime trip that you will want to start packing your bags for!
The Adventures by Disney trip to Colombia includes eight days and seven nights of pure Disney magic. The trip starts in Bogota, where you will explore the Paloquemao Market and all of its colorful flowers, fruits, and vegetables.

Once you finish sampling unique fruits and learn all about the healing properties of medicinal herbs, you will have the opportunity to make arepas just like Mirabel’s mom, Julieta, made for her family in Encanto.
After your arepas-making class, it’s on to the Gold Museum, home to over 34,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic gold.
Then you will have the opportunity to learn about something almost as valuable as gold when you enjoy a private tour of a fourth-generation coffee farm in the Coffee Region of Colombia. While there, you will learn about roasting and harvesting beans and how to brew the perfect cup of coffee.

While in Coffee Region, you will have the chance to go to Cocora Valley. While in Cocora Valley, look for towering and majestic wax palms as seen surrounding the Madrigal home in Encanto.
Anyone up for a game of tejo? Tejo is the national sport of Colombia and is also seen in the background during the musical scene, “The Family Madrigal,” scene in Encanto, where Mirabel is walking through the village. And, you will get to learn to play it too when you visit Salento during this Adventures by Disney vacation.

Up next is a visit to the breathtaking Caribbean coast of Colombia and Cartagena. While there, you will have a private and interactive visit with the Proyecto Titi Foundation, learn about the cotton-top tamarin, and trek through the forest to see creatures in their natural habitats. (Did you know that the Disney Conservation Fund actually sponsors this amazing organization?!) This stop is perfect for all animal lovers, just like Antonio in Encanto!
Continuing on with this portion of the trip is also a visit to a local farm to help a local farmer plant some of the tamarin’s favorite things to nosh on.

Also included in this visit to Cartagena, is a walking tour of the Getsemani Neighborhood, which is known for its colorful murals and buildings. A visit to one of the largest Spanish colonial fortresses, San Felipe de Barejas Fort, is also offered. San Felipe de Barejas is known to be an engineering marvel and also protected Cartagena from pirates.
Your Adventures by Disney vacation to Colombia ends with a visit to the majestic Rosario Islands. The Rosario Islands consists of 27 islands and is also home to a whopping 1300 species of marine animals and plants. For those looking to add even more adventure to their vacation, snorkeling is offered while in the Rosario Islands’ shallow reefs.
