Animal Kingdom’s Beloved Seasoned Fries Have a New Dipping Sauce
Planning out some good meals while your in Disney World is definitely important, but another very important thing to keep in mind is where to grab some great snacks!
There are SO many tasty snacks to choose from in Disney World, from sweet things like Dole Whip to savory things like cheeseburger spring rolls (side note: if someone wants to ship those cheeseburger spring rolls straight to my house, that would be great, thanks).
Some of the best snacks fly under the radar though. And, a fan-favorite snack in Animal Kingdom was just changed!
Mr. Kamal’s
Mr. Kamal’s is a snack kiosk located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It has a limited menu and the hours can be irregular, but it is home to a beloved snack!
The seasoned fries here are a big hit with Disney guests. The only other food item on the menu is the chicken dumplings!
The fries are a great snack if you want something to share or just need something to hold you over until your next meal. Previously, they were served with curried honey mustard or Korean chili ketchup (it actually still says this on the menu in the My Disney Experience app!).
New Dipping Sauce
Now, there’s a new dipping sauce in town! The seasoned fries are being served with sriracha mayonnaise for $5.99.
So, we went over to try it out for ourselves! We know that the old dipping sauces were a huge reason why people loved these fries, so hopefully this one is just as good.
Our MickeyBlogger Kristen grabbed them to try out. She said that she liked this sauce!
If you’re a fan of spicy mayos in general, you will probably enjoy this. Kristen said it worked well with the spicy fries.
She did say that the mayo’s flavor did kind of get lost behind all of the spices on the fries, though. If they’re going to stick with this sauce for the fries, it might be worth toning down the seasoning a bit so that the flavors can balance each other out more.
The spice does hit you in the back of the throat though, so make sure you grab something to drink when you’re eating these!
If you can’t handle any kind of spice whatsoever, maybe don’t try these. Or, at least get them to share with others if you end up not liking them!
We’re a little sad about the previous sauces disappearing. But, we’ll keep an eye out to see if this change is permanent.
Stay tuned for more food news and updates from Disney World!
