Exciting Progress Happening on Journey of Water at EPCOT
What’s one thing that both Disney World and big college campuses have in common? They’re both seemingly always under construction.
Seriously, it feels like as soon as one project is finished, another one begins! Or, things are just perpetually under construction since some projects take such a long time.
It’s hard to keep up with everything, but that’s why we’re here! We make sure you know about all of the important construction projects happening in the parks.
And, we have an update for you on the construction at an upcoming attraction in EPCOT!
Journey of Water Construction
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana has been in the works for a while now. This will be a walkthrough attraction located in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT.

The attraction has made some exciting progress lately, and we’ve seen some sneak peeks at what the finished product will look like thanks to Disney’s Imagineers.

We like to check on how things are going whenever we take the monorail to EPCOT. And, we’ve seen some exciting progress on Journey of Water lately!
Take a look at our view from above. It looks like things are really taking shape.
Disney has said that the attraction will open in the fall of this year, but things are moving along quite quickly! There is even a Journey of Water sign at the kiosk you see in this picture.
It looks like this will be where the entrance of the attraction is.
There are also a ton of trees in this area now! Adding foliage is almost always a good sign that things are nearing the end of construction.
There are even awnings up already!
We wouldn’t be surprised if previews for this attraction started in the late summer, with it officially opening in the fall.
We also spotted work being done behind the walls across from Journey of Water. This probably isn’t part of the same attraction, but something is definitely being built!
Take a look at the work being done. We’ve got some curvy walls happening!
Here’s another view:
We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for any other major changes, so stay tuned for more from Disney World!
