Beautiful Ube Pianono Dessert Returns to Disney Springs
Each May sees the vibrant return of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, with the whole of Walt Disney World celebrating “A World of Voices” in commemoration of the rich culture and community these heritages have to offer.
One of the most highly-anticipated experiences from this celebration is the fan-favorite foodie festival, which sees treats and dishes inspired by AAPI flavors appear on menus all across the resort.
You can check out the mouth-watering line up here, and keep reading to discover a beautiful returning treat over at one of our favorite Disney Springs spots!
Today, our MickeyBloggers are over at Amorette’s Patisserie, a fabulous Town Center bakery that we can always rely upon to get involved in any resort-wide celebration.
From St Patrick’s Day petit cakes to Star Wars Day eclairs, their carefully crafted desserts are always full of flavor and festivity, so we knew their AAPI Heritage Month offering is sure to delight as well!
So, for this month’s celebrations, guests can visit the patisserie to enjoy this Ube Pianono treat, which is returning to the Amorette’s menu exclusively for May.
According to the official Foodie Guide to the celebration, this dessert was created by a Pastry Culinary Cast Member named Ruben, who used influences and inspiration from his own Filipino heritage. We can’t wait to try it out!
We placed our order inside the bakery, and were given this absolutely gorgeous little dessert, with perhaps the most spectacular color we ever did see!
As the title suggests, this Ube Pianono consists of an Ube Roulade Cake, stuffed with a Banana-Cinnamon Mousse, and topped with swirls of Ube Buttercream. Doesn’t that just sound delicious?
Even before we get into the flavor of this dessert, we have to take a moment to admire the beauty of the treat. From the beautifully rich color of the cake, to the delicate decorations Amorette’s is famed for, this treat really does bring joy to the AAPI Heritage Month celebrations!
It was our wonderful MickeyBlogger Miranda who was lucky enough to try this dessert for us, and she confirmed it tasted as good as it looked. Miranda’s main note was that it was the taste of banana which shined through from the mousse, delicately and never overpowering. There wasn’t much of a cinnamon flavor to detect, but Miranda did mention that the cake has a scattering of crispy pearls hidden inside to add fun texture to each bite.
In summary, this roulade was moist, flavorful, and delicious – and we’d certainly recommend you give it a try!
If you would like to taste this limited-edition treat, head on down to the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs, where you can purchase it from Amorette’s Patisserie for $9. It will be available through May 31st exclusively for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, so don’t miss out!
