Animal Kingdom’s 25th Anniversary Decor Has Already Been Removed
A Disney World park recently hit a huge milestone — Animal Kingdom celebrated its 25th Anniversary! The celebrations took place on April 22nd (which is also Earth Day!).
There were some festivities in the park like special entertainment, treats, character meet and greets, decorations, and more. We visited the park on the big day to check everything out!
However, it seems like the celebrations are firmly over now.
Animal Kingdom Decor Removed
The 25th Anniversary decor has already been removed from Animal Kingdom! We were pretty surprised about this since it hasn’t even been a week since the official date of the anniversary.
We noticed this at the entrance first. The banners were gone from the light posts…
…and the 25th Anniversary sign was gone.
Once inside, we saw that the 25th sign had been removed from in front of Tree of Life, too! Not cool, Disney.
Disney World as a whole literally got almost a year and a half of celebrations for its 50th anniversary, and Animal Kingdom can’t even get a couple of weeks?! What’s going on?
Sure, Disney World as a whole is bigger than just one park, but the 50th was REALLY just celebrating 50 years of Magic Kingdom and a few opening-day hotels. Everything else came after!
While 25 might not be as impressive as 50, it’s still a big deal and something to be celebrated!
Listen, Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park, and it’s SO underappreciated! It makes me sad that a lot of people view it as one of their least favorite parks, a half-day park, or a park to skip altogether. It even seems like an afterthought to Disney sometimes.
I mean, there’s no real nighttime show anymore, it gets the least amount of decorations for the holidays, and it usually closes the earliest. I know that a lot of this has to do with the animals, and I totally respect that, but there are still things that could happen, like nighttime shows without fireworks and keeping some of the areas like Pandora and DinoLand U.S.A. open later.
Animal Kingdom deserves more love! The park is absolutely gorgeous. Just go stand under the Tree of Life for 15 minutes and then tell me you’re not blown away by how much detail there is, I dare ya.
Anyway, we’re happy Animal Kingdom did get some celebration for its 25th anniversary, we just wish it would’ve lasted a bit longer so it could truly feel like everyone was celebrating the park.
Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
