Disneyland Fantasmic! Production Put on Hold Due to Yesterday’s Fire
If you were following along with us here at MickeyBlog earlier today, you may have seen our report that a fire occurred during the dragon scene at last night’s performance of Fantasmic! at Disneyland. According to footage that we shared earlier, it looks as if the Maleficent Dragon had a malfunction and erupted into flames which quickly spread to other parts of Tom Sawyer Island, and the production was promptly halted.
Due to the extent of the fire, Disneyland fans have been wondering what impact this incident would have on future Fantasmic! performances and it looks like we have a bit of an answer.
It should come as no surprise after yesterday’s fire on Tom Sawyer Island that the Fantasmic! performance for this evening is canceled.
As you can see from the image above, these cancellations of Fantasmic! continue on the schedule through Thursday, April 27, 2023.
At the moment it does look like Disneyland hopes to resume performances on Friday, April 28, 2023, which will be 6-days after the fire occurred. However, it should be noted that this could be subject to change as Disney continues to survey the damage.
