CLUES About Disney’s Upcoming Decades Merchandise
We’ve also seen a TON of merchandise for the anniversary, both online and in the theme parks, including entirely new collections. So, let’s talk about one of the most exciting Disney100 collections and what future items will look like!
Disney100 Decades Collection
The Disney100 Decades Collection releases merchandise themed to a different decade every month, starting with the 1920s.
The first 3 installments have already been released and we’ve seen 1920s merchandise theme to Steamboat Willie, 1930s merchandise themed to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Band Concert, and 1940s items themed to Pinocchio, Dumbo, and The Three Caballeros, among other things.
Now, we want to talk about the upcoming collections! Over on shopDisney’s website, we can see hints about some of the movies, TV shows, and characters that will be in the upcoming releases.
We know that the 1950s collection will come out on May 15th and feature items from Cinderella. But, we also can see Alice in Wonderland on the website for this decade!
Other movies that could be included in the 1950s include Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, and Lady and the Tramp.
Following this same schedule, June should cover the 1960s, and Disney shows The Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians as what’s coming. The other major film released during this decade is The Sword in the Stone.
We should see the 1970s in July. The collection features The Aristocats and The Muppets! Other movies from this decade include Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and The Rescuers.
In August, we should see a collection themed to the 1980s that will apparently include Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. Some big 80s Disney movies include The Little Mermaid, The Fox and the Hound, and Oliver & Company.
The 1990s feature Beauty and the Beast and Darkwing Duck (and should be released in September). This was a big decade for Disney Animation, so other movies we could see in the collection include Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and more.
The 2000s release (which should be in October), includes The Princess and the Frog and Bolt. More movies from the 2000s include The Emperor’s New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, and Brother Bear.
Finally, we have the 2010s, which should be out in November. The website shows Frozen and Toy Story pictures, which we’re assuming are for Toy Story 3 or 4, since they were released in the 2010s.
Other movies we could potentially see from this decade include Tangled, Zootopia, Moana, Wreck-It Ralph, and Big Hero 6.
This is the last decade in the collection on the website. If Disney were to do the 2020s, major movies they could pull ideas from would include Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, Turning Red, Soul, and Strange World.
We’ll let you know when we find out more about each installment of the Disney100 Decades collection! Stay tuned for more Disney news and info.
