‘Ahsoka’ Will Feature a Fan-Favorite Star Wars Villain
Lucasfilm has finally revealed who will play the fan-favorite villain Grand Admiral Thrown in the upcoming Ahsoka series.
When the cast of Ahsoka appeared at Star Wars Celebration today, there was one notable addition to the cast — Lars Mikkelsen.

Who is Thrawn?
Thrawn was originally created by author Timothy Zahn as part of the Thrawn trilogy of novels. Those books saw the Grand Admiral lead the scattered remnants of the Galactic Empire.
The Grand Admiral’s ambition would bring the villain into conflict with Luke Skywalker, Leah Skywalker, Han Solo, and Lando Calrissian.

While the original Thrawn trilogy of novels was rendered non-canon by Lucasfilm in 2014, Thrawn would make his canon debut in the 2016 animated series Star Wars Rebels. In that series, the antagonist retained much of his characteristics and backstory from the original Thrawn trilogy.

As Ahsoka gets set to debut on Disney+, it seems as if the series will revolve around the former Jedi’s search for Thrawn.
From Animation To Live-Action
At Star Wars Celebration in London today, Lucasfilm revealed that Lars Mikkelsen will portray Thrawn in the upcoming series.

Star Wars fans will recognize Mikkelsen as the voice of Thrawn in Rebels. This will mark the second time that a voice actor for a main Star Wars character made the jump to live-action.
Katee Sackhoff currently portrays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian, after voicing the character in the Clone Wars animated series.
