Disney Parks Blog has you covered! Read on for five “secret animals” to check out on your next visit to Animal Kingdom!
Kangaroos
Did you know Animal Kingdom is home to 2 species of kangaroos: four western grey and two red.
Where can you spot spot these energetic animals? Simply head left at the Tree of Life photo area, and the kangaroos are to your right.
Fun Fact: Look closely! The red kangaroos stand apart thanks to the white stripe on their face.
American Crocodile
Wow! Head over to DinoLand and visit with Marley, the American crocodile. He goes back and forth between water and land to regulate his body temperature, but you will definitely see this big guy at Animal Kingdom.
How can you tell a crocodile apart from an alligator? Simply check out their snouts. American crocodiles have long, narrow snouts and alligators have a wide, U-shaped snout. Cool!
Naked Mole Rats
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is not just home to gorillas. Here you can find our favorite and little pink animal: naked mole rats.
The tiny mole rats are covered with very fine hairs that helps them navigate the dark, underground tunnels they call home.
Southern Giant Anteaters
The Oasis is located at the front of Animal Kingdom and boasts numerous unique animals. One of our faves? The southern giant anteater.
The giant anteater relies heavily on their sense of smell and have long, cylindrical snouts.
