FIRST LOOK: New TRON Lightcycle / Run MagicBand+ Speeds to Tomorrowland for Opening Day
We’re set for an awesome day at the Magic Kingdom, as today marks the official opening date for TRON Lightcycle / Run!

Right now, we’re checking out the spectacular range of merchandise over in Tomorrowland and, in true Disney style, the highly-anticipated drop is proving to be quite the well-oiled system!

One of the items we were most excited to check out is the MagicBand+, and that’s what I’m here to show you right now.
It’s shiny, it’s sleek, it’s super-awesome… and we just know guests are going to love it!
Now, before I get ahead of myself, I do just want to mention that the TRON MagicBand+ is something we’ve spoken about here at MickeyBlog before. Less than a month ago, Disney gave us a first glimpse of a funky design inspired by the attraction, that we were all very excited to get our hands on.
However, you’ll notice that the MagicBand+ we’re holding right now is actually a different design, instead released in commemoration of today’s very special opening day. That’s right, this super-cool accessory is an exclusive, limited-edition, celebratory piece, marking the historical occasion that is the official debut of the coaster!
So, without further ado, let’s check it out…
Even before we get to the band itself, we have to say that we’re impressed with the box this accessory comes in. It’s a sleek black box with electric blue accents, with the MagicBand+ logo and TRON icons printed boldly on each side.
An especially cool feature is the fun “2023” date printed on the side of the box. You’ll be able to say “I was there on that date!” to future generations of TRON riders for years to come!
Moving on to the band itself now, which is also a cool black color.
Like the box, the band features the “2023” date printed on one arm of the strap, stylized in that funky, techno-fab aesthetic that TRON is best known for!
The other end of the adjustable strap shows an image of the ground-breaking lightcycle bikes, zooming along just like in the attraction itself. Next to this reads the slogan “Enter the Grid.” We love it!
As we mentioned previously, this MagicBand+ is a highly exclusive piece, with a strictly limited release of only 2100 items.
While we’re sure that the MagicBand+ design that we saw previously teased will also be released soon, this “opening day” version is sure to be a popular piece among guests. So, if you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom this week, be sure to grab yours quickly before they all sell out!
