There’s a New Plant-Based Sandwich Available in Magic Kingdom
Ahoy there, friends, are we feeling hungry today? Well, our MickeyBloggers have anchored up in the Magic Kingdom this weekend, where a new, plant-based menu option we’d heard drift of was on our radar for lunchtime.
Hop aboard if you’d care to join us, as we’re going to go check it out!
Columbia Harbour House
Our voyage today takes us over to Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom, and into one of my personal favorite Magic Kingdom dining locations, Columbia Harbour House.
This gorgeous and friendly quick service spot has been a MickeyBlog favorite for years now, so we’re always keen to try out any new items that arrive on their menu.
Today, it’s the Plant-Based Crab Cake Sandwich that’s on our radar! Columbia is known for their fresh, New England catch flavors, with lots of seafood and chicken options always available on the menu.
It’s always nice to find a plant-based seafood option, whether you’re following a plant-based diet or are just looking to try something new. So, we placed our order, found a seat, and tucked in!
It’s worth noting that this menu offering actually replaced the Haunted Mansion-inspired Doom Burger at Columbia Harbour House, which was also a plant-based offering.
As that was added to the menu in celebration of the now-concluded 50th anniversary celebrations at Walt Disney World, it was time a new option took it’s place!
This crab-inspired sandwich, which combines the plant-based crab cake patty with a thick red cabbage slaw, also comes served with a side of French fries. Minus the drink, the meal costs $13.49.
Now, for our review!
Well, it was our MickeyBlogger Elyssa who tried this out for us today, and we’re disappointed to say that she wasn’t too enthralled with the offering.
While we appreciate this is a plant-based option, Elyssa said that she felt the patty (which seemed frozen) tasted more processed than she’d like, so unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this one to future guests.
Although this dish was a “miss” in our books, we will say that it doesn’t change our beliefs that Walt Disney World is a great destination for those looking for plant-based items.
There’s so many incredible and delicious plant-based options across the resort that we’d recommend you try, so please don’t let our review of this sandwich put you off. After all, you can’t win them all!
In the meantime, be sure to check back for more reviews, news, and more from MickeyBlog as we continue on our culinary adventures across Walt Disney World and beyond!
