The 50th Anniversary Section Is Gone from World of Disney!
Well, there’s been a big change over at World of Disney in Disney Springs this weekend.
The huge area set up in celebration of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary has been removed completely, with a whole new re-theme taking over it’s spot!
Now that “The Most Magical Celebration” has come to an end, we’ve been seeing any remaining commemorative elements being gradually removed across the resort. This includes “EAR-idescent” banners, signage, and more, as well as the many, many items of anniversary merchandise being pulled from shelves.
It’s bittersweet, really. As much as we are sad to see this incredible celebration reach a conclusion, we’re excited for new arrivals and experiences to come to the resort!
One such new addition is this sprawling Pixar-themed display, which has taken over the entire rear section of World of Disney that was formerly occupied by the 50th celebrations. As you can see from our photos, this changeover includes not only the shelves being stocked with awesome Pixar merchandise items, but also large thematic elements totally transforming the space, too!
Up high, we can see huge banners featuring classic Pixar artwork of favorite characters, with a gigantic paintbrush statue to really heighten that artistic, creative flair. The screen which spans the back wall now depicts shots of characters and concept art, with many more fun, artsy, and inspired details also dotted across the shelves and displays.
It’s like an animator’s dream in here!
Last week, MickeyBlog reported that World of Disney was hosting a huge clear-out sale of anniversary merchandise for guests to purchase at a reduced price. We can certainly see why now, as there’s not a number “50” in sight any more in this part of the store!
Instead, all the merchandise that fills the space is themed to all our Pixar favorites, including character apparel, funky homewares, must-have toys, and more.
We can see items inspired by movies including Toy Story, Coco, Monsters, Inc., Cars, and more… and that’s just at a first glance!
So, next time you’re heading through Disney Springs, be prepared to spot this huge change over at World of Disney. If you’re a Pixar fan you’re sure to love this switch-around, but we understand that some guests will be sad to see that anniversary magic disappear, too.
What do you think of the store’s new re-theme? Will you be exploring next time you’re in the Springs? Let us know in the comments!
