Beautiful Easter Petit Cake Hops into Disney Springs
Here at MickeyBlog, we think that Disney Springs is one of the most beautiful and vibrant places to enjoy a Disney springtime. The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and there’s always a whole bunch of fresh, Easter-inspired treats to pick!
Today, our MickeyBlog egg-hunters were over at the Town Center neighborhood of the Springs, where the cutest new cake has “hopped” onto the menu at one of our favorite bakeries. Are you ready to check it out with us? Well, keep reading!
Welcome to Amorette’s Patisserie! This delightful store is always high on our list of bakeries to visit at Walt Disney World, thanks to their incredible and ever-evolving range of cakes, macarons, and other beautiful sweet treats.
If you follow along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that we have been here once already this weekend, to try the adorable Chip and Dale Macaron. However, it’s a different, more Easter-inspired dessert that’s got our ears and tails all bright and fluffy today…
How gorgeous is this? It’s the Easter Petit Cake, which has just hopped on to the menu at Amorette’s for the delightful springtime season!
The petit cakes are always extra-special here at Amorettes, so we knew we were in for a treat with this gorgeous new creation.
Before we get to talking about the flavors of this cake, let’s just take a moment to admire how cute the design is!
The cake is covered by a grass-green fondant icing, and features a hilarious bunny rear sticking out like he’s stuck in a hole. It kind of reminds me of Pooh Bear getting stuck in Rabbit’s house in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – can you see that too?
It’s the incredible details on this cake that really stand out to us, however – such as the twirly knot patterns of the “wooden” fondant fence creeping around the cake. Delicately-piped roses radiate the joys of springtime, and there’s a sprinkling of jelly beans to add Easter egg-inspired color, too.
It’s so gorgeous!
Finally, perched atop the cake, is a fun mud patch of chocolate crumbs, with gummy worms crawling about on top. If you’re a fan of the classic “worms and dirt” dessert you’ll love this finishing detail, that also serves as a cute reminder to get our gardens in gear for the warmer months!
Ok, now I’m done gushing over the gorgeous design of this cake, it’s time to talk about flavor. And, as always, Amorette’s have really delivered when it comes to choosing the best flavors to represent the season.
The cake combines vanilla chiffon with layers of berry compote, berry mousse, and cream cheese mousse, creating a finishing result that sounds like it’s going to be super light, airy, and delicious. Mmm, we can’t wait to try it out!
It was our lovely MickeyBlogger Jessie who tried this for us, and she agreed that the whole texture was as light and fluffy as a bunny itself. She told us that the combination of vanilla and berry in this cake gave it a very refreshing appeal, that we have to agree sounds perfect for the springtime.
Jessie also let us know that this cake includes actual bits of blueberries and strawberries tucked between the layers, which was a fun and delicious surprise, and this compote combined with the berry mousse was simply delightful. Finally, the cream cheese frosting was also a delicious addition to the cake, with a light flavor that wasn’t as overpowering as cream cheese bases can sometimes be.
All in all, we’d say this was a total hit of a springtime dessert, and one we’d certainly recommend to our readers!
If this post has made you want to “hop” on over to Disney Springs, then you’ll need to know the petit cake costs $22, and is available for a limited time over at Amorette’s Patisserie.
We hope you enjoy it, and be sure to follow along with MickeyBlog as we find more adorable and fresh treats for springtime across the Walt Disney World resort!
