Walt Disney World Debuts New Annual Pass Design, System For Getting AP Discounts
One of the best feelings of being a Disney Annual Passholder is when you get to pick up your new card.
Although the cards don’t have much use once they are synced to the My Disney Experience app and MagicBand, they are still a fun physical way to show that you are an AP holder.

Well, if you are Annual Pass Holder who is about to renew your pass, I have great news.
A new Annual Pass design has officially debuted at the Magic Kingdom Today. In fact, our very own Greg and Elyssa were the first guests to receive them!
A New Mickey Design
The new cards are once again yellow, and they feature the more recent Disney World Annual Passholder logo.

Next to Mickey, the cards read “Walt Disney World annual passholder.”

Even if this card doesn’t have a ton of function purposes, it’s a lot of fun! Who wouldn’t smile when looking in their wallet and seeing Mickey smiling up at them?

Finally, in an interesting change, these new Annual Pass cards do not have dates on them. Whether or not that means these physical cards will be reusable remains to be seen.
New AP Discount Process
I also want to mention that there is a new process when it comes to getting Annual Passholder discounts.
As opposed to showing your physical card in order to get an AP discount, Cast Members are instructing guests to add the card to their Apple Wallet.
As Disney tries to move away from hard cards to virtual cards, Cast Members will be asking to see a digital version of their Annual Pass when applying discounts.
