Disney Layoffs Chief Compliance Officer Alicia Schwarz
As Disney continues to unveil nearly 7,000 layoffs throughout every division of the company, it is not only rank and file employees who are out of a job, but also many top executives.
Early today, news broke the Marvel Chairman, and constant thorn in Bob Iger’s side, Ike Perlmutter had been laid off, as Marvel Entertainment was folded into other divisions within Disney.

Now, news has come down that Disney SVP and Chief Compliance Officer Alicia Schwarz, has also been laid off.
An Impressive Career
Schwarz joined the Walt Disney Company in 2014, as principal counsel. She later served as the Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, and Global Deputy Chief Compliance Counsel

In her roles as Chief Compliance Officer, Schwartz managed Disney’s global ethics standards. She also was charged with regulatory compliance with anti-corruption and trade law.
Her role will now be absorbed by Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel Horacio Gutierrez.

More Cuts Coming
With its annual shareholder meeting scheduled for next week, the company is looking to make headway on Iger’s promise to slash 7,000 jobs in order to relieve the company’s debt.

Reports state that the upcoming second round of layoffs will be the deepest. Already, Disney has announced executives at Hulu, Freeform and 20th Television would be leaving the company.
