Along with directing The Aristocats, Questlove will also be executive producing and overseeing music for the film. The film is being produced by Will Gluck’s production company (Olive Bridge) and Two One Five Entertainment, which is the production company of The Roots.

The film will be based on the original animated films from 1970, which is about a family of Parisian cats who learn they’re going to inherit a fortune from their owner. The cats are kidnapped by their owner’s butler and they have to join forces with a tomcat to make it back home.
