In addition to the name change, more exciting news has been announced. A video released from the set shows footage of Paolo Montalban, Cinderella’s Prince Charming in the 1996 Rodgers and Hammerstein production!
Although the two will reprise their roles as their former characters, their titles have been upgraded. As reported by Variety, Prince Charming is now king, and Cinderella is queen!

Descendants: Rise of Red
The musical follows the Queen of Hearts’ daughter, Red, and Cinderella and Charming’s daughter, Chloe. While Red is rebellious by nature, Chloe is a bit naive.
The duo must work together to save the kingdom of Auradon. To do this, they will travel back in time!
