March 20th featured the opening of new rides in Tokyo Disneyland, the debut of a new Broadway show, and a very special honor for the Muppets! So, let’s get going!

Symphony Hour Released (1942)
On this day in 1942, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Symphony Hour was released.

The short starred Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as members of a radio orchestra. While rehearsals go well, when Goofy drops all of the instruments under an elevator, things go awry.
The Alpine Haus Opens (1985)
On this day in 1985, The Alpine Haus and the Candy Wagon shop opened in Tokyo Disneyland.

The Alpine Haus would be replaced by the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall in 2008.
Captain EO Comes To Tokyo (1987)
On this day in 1987, Captain EO opened in Tokyo Disneyland.

The Michael Jackson film had previously debuted at EPCOT Center and Disneyland.
Casey Jr. Circus Train Opens (1994)
On this day in 1994, the Casey Jr. Circus Train opened in Disneyland Paris.

The slow moving circus train gives guests great views of Storybook Land.
My Friend Duffy Debuts (2010)
On this day in 2010, “My Friend Duffy” debuted at Tokyo DisneySea.

The stage show starred Duffy the Disney Bear,i and was shown in the Cape Code section of American Waterfront.
The Muppets Get A Star On the Walk of Fame (2012)
On this day in 2012, the Muppets were honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On hand for the festivities were Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Fozzie, Gonzo, Sweetums and Walter.
Aladdin Debuts on Broadway (2014)
On this day in 2014, Aladdin debuted on Broadway.

Based on the 1992 animated classic, the show premiered at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Disney Buys 21st Century Fox
On this day in 2019, Disney officially completed their purchase of 21st Century Fox.
The massive deal for Disney added a whole new library of films, television shows, and intellectual properties to their catalogue.
