Adventures by Disney and National Geographic Expeditions have a variety of itineraries available to explore Ireland including everything from exploring time-honored traditions to tracing the paths of the Vikings and the Celts. Let’s take a closer look!
All the Castles!
Just like Disney Parks across the globe, Ireland offers castles, castles, and more castles! I’m talking over 30,000 of them! Select Adventures by Disney and National Geographic vacations include visits to the following locations:
Live Like Royalty at Dromoland Castle
When you take part in the Adventures by Disney Ireland itinerary, you will not only enjoy a private tour of the grounds at Dromoland Castle, you will actually spend three nights there! What a dream come true it would be to actually sleep in a castle!
The ivy-covered Dromoland Castle is located in a picturesque landscape of rolling hills, pristine gardens, and a private lake which give the perfect backdrop of all the photos you will share about this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Experience History First-Hand at Kilkenny Castle
During the National Geographic Expeditions Tales and Traditions of the Emerald Isle trip, you will experience the magic of the Kilkenny Castle which was built all the way back in the 12th century.
In addition to exploring this historic castle, highlights of this itinerary, which like all itineraries is led by a knowledgeable National Geographic Expert, include a visit to the National Craft Gallery. The National Craft Gallery is located on the site of Kilkenny Castle’s former stables and is reland’s leading center for contemporary craft and design.
All About Dublin
From the culture and history to the food and drinks, Dublin has it all! And, these Adventures by Disney and National Geographic Expedition itineraries are the best way to experience it all.
Dine Like a Local
On both the Adventures by Disney Ireland and British Isles itineraries, you will live and dine like a local when you enjoy live music while having a meal and a pint at a traditional Irish pub. Once the festive celebration ends, there’s plenty of time to explore all that Dublin has to offer on your own.
Watch Irish History Come to Life
Did you know the world’s first fully-digital museum is located in Dublin? That’s right! And, on the Adventures by Disney British Isles itinerary, you’ll get to experience the history and magic of Ireland and its people firsthand through this one-of-a-kind experience.
See Ireland by Land and Sea
Feast Your Signs on the Upside Down Lighthouse add see Puffins!
While The Voyage to Scotland’s Wild Isles Expedition Cruise with National Geographic Expeditions focuses on Scotland but does include a visit to Rathlin Island, right off the coast of Ireland’s Northern Coast.
This rugged island is home to only 200 humans but also homes one of Ireland’s largest puffin communities! During your visit, you will be guided through the island by a National Geographic expert while learning about its historical presence and the island’s Rathlin West Light (aka the “upside-down lighthouse”).
Learn More about the Titanic
The Ancient Isles Expedition Cruise with National Geographic Expeditions includes a stop at the historic port city of Cobh. While visiting the Cobh Heritage Center, you will experience exhibits that highlight Cobh’s maritime history, Irish emigration, the potato famine, and even The Titanic as Cobh was the ill-fated vessel’s final port of call. Exhibits include actual artifacts and unique insights from the ship.
Adventures by Disney also offers an itinerary that gives Guests a chance to learn more about the Titanic. The British Isles itinerary includes a stop in Belfast where the Titanic was constructed. During your time in Belfast, you will experience the sights, sounds, smells, and stories of the ship while journeying through the shipyard where the vessel was built during an immersive self-guided tour.
