Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at Epcot with New Irish Coffee Tart!
EPCOT is known for it’s “world celebrations” so, every time there’s an event going on, you just know the park will commemorate it somehow!
Today is St Patrick’s Day, and while enjoying a day at the park our MickeyBloggers followed the rainbow over to one of our favorite quick service dining locations, where a new, limited-time treat had hopped on to the menu. Grab your hats, and let’s go check it out!
This here is the Irish Coffee Tart, which is new on the menu at Sunshine Seasons. Located within the Land pavilion of EPCOT, Sunshine Seasons is known for its fresh, sustainable, and inventive offerings… as well as their wacky themed dessert options too!
This new St Patrick’s Day treat sure does look appealing, so let’s learn more about what it consists of, and what our MickeyBloggers thought of the taste…
As we can see from the menu card positioned on the counter, this treat consists of a chocolate coffee tart, topped with a mint mousse, and an Irish coffee crémeux.
You can’t celebrate St Pats without a shamrock or two, so sweet versions of these gorgeous green emblems are also tucked into the tart for added luck and festivity!
Now if, like me, you’re not up to date on your French patisserie lingo and aren’t sure what a “crémeux” is when it’s at home, don’t worry. I did a quick Google, and it turns out this delicious sweet is actually somewhere between a crème anglaise (custard) and chocolate. Yum!
“Crémeux” means “creamy” in French, so you just know this is going to be an indulgent treat to enjoy!
It was our MickeyBlogger Jared who sampled this treat for us and, although he mentioned the treat itself wasn’t anything particularly enthusing, it was enjoyable. The tart has more of a brownie taste to it, although the unique and delicious mint mousse on top added an interesting twist of flavor that Jared appreciated.
All in all, it makes a tasty lunchtime treat for chocoholics, and is certainly a fun and delicious way to commemorate St Patrick’s Day at EPCOT!
