There’s More Construction Underway in EPCOT World Showcase!
Temporary construction barriers are a sight known to many an EPCOT guest, but they’ve just arrived in yet another corner of the ever-progressing park!
Our MickeyBloggers were enjoying an afternoon stroll around the World Showcase this week, where they noticed a buzz of activity taken place over in the Morocco pavilion. This isn’t construction we were aware was going to take place, so let’s head over and see what’s going on together…
Located midway around the beautiful World Showcase, the Morocco Pavilion has been no stranger to refurbs, refits, openings, and closings over the past few years. The pavilion, known for its enchanting architecture, has received a slew of design refreshes since the pandemic and, while the Tangierine Café reopened back in 2021, and the Tangier Carpets stall in 2022, the table-service Restaurant Marrakesh still remains a “temporarily unavailable experience.”
It’s all very hard to predict, which is why we’re curious to see what this latest construction work evolves into at the pavilion!
Now, as you can see from the photos taken by our MickeyBlog reporters, the main thing to notice here is that a whole lot of green seems to have sprouted up in the pavilion.
This, of course, comes from those all-too-familiar evergreen shrubbery wheeled carts, which Disney are forever placing in strategic configurations to block off views of whatever it is they’re working on.
While, yes, the carts are looking a tad bashed-around and worse-for-wear at the moment, we’ll happily take these temporary view-blockers over the less-aesthetically-pleasing construction walls!
Of course, these trees do serve well in preventing us guests from seeing what’s going on in these construction sites, but our MickeyBloggers did say they saw some activity taking place deeper into the pavilion. Peering past the bushes, it would appear that there is some sort of crane at work back by the beautiful Morocco fountain, and the currently-closed Restaurant Marrakesh.
While it’s only speculation at this stage, we’ll remain hopeful that this activity could be an indicator of the return of this amazing Moroccan-inspired restaurant to Epcot.
