Howdy folks, and welcome back to MickeyBlog, where we have been avidly monitoring the construction progress on Toy Story Land’s newest barbecue joint for… well, for what feels like ages now, honestly.
With the March 23rd opening date for the restaurant creeping nearer and nearer, the unveilings of various facade elements have gotten more and more frequent, and we were even treated to a video look-around tour of the venue by Disney just yesterday.
Today, the big news is that the grand entrance sign for the restaurant has finally been uncovered for cowboys and cowgirls all over to admire, and we couldn’t be more excited to show you!
Sporting a fun, playful theme that perfectly blends in with the Toy Story land aesthetic, this sign is about as bright and welcoming as they come. The tall frame looks to be made from plastic wood, with a “cardboard cut-out” statue of Bullseye and “toy” lanterns ready to illuminate the place come nightfall.
The “Roundup Rodeo” name of the restaurant is printed in a bold, 3D-effect font, with the “BBQ” letters added to the side like stickers. Just like the rest of Andy’s garden, it looks like it was built out of playthings, and we couldn’t be more obsessed!
For comparison’s sake, below you can see the original artist’s concept sketch of what we were teased the restaurant’s entranceway, including the sign, would look like…
As you can see, the Imagineers have stayed true to their concept design, with only really the fonts of the lettering standing out as different. That, and the type of building block Bullseye stood upon!
With all these exciting construction updates, we feel like the mouth-watering smell of barbecue will soon be filling the air at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We can’t wait to keep you updated as we eagerly await the dining location’s debut in the park, so be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com for all the latest news, reviews, and more, right from Walt Disney World!
