How to Choose the Disney Cruise That is Right for You
Have you been thinking about going on a Disney Cruise and not sure how to choose the one that is right for you?
You’ve come to the perfect place.
With Disney Cruise Lines having 5 (soon to be 6) ships and a list of seemingly endless destinations it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
What is Included
First, let’s look at what all Disney Cruise Line Cruises include.
Your stateroom: the main categories are inside, oceanview, oceanview with veranda and concierge.
Dining: each of Disney Cruise Line’s ships have 3 dining sit down restaurants that are part of their rotational dining, where you are scheduled to rotate through each of the 3 restaurants each night of the cruise, keeping the same wait staff at each of those locations.
Each Disney Cruise Line ship has a buffet available plus multiple quick service locations. 24 hour room service is a great option. All included in your cruise price.
All Disney Cruise Line ships offer Broadway style shows (different on each of the ships).
It wouldn’t be Disney without characters.
Then Disney Cruise Line also has special themed cruises with additional characters and entertainment.
Such as Marvel Day at Sea, Pixar Day at Sea, Halloween on the High Seas, Very Merrytime Christmas cruises and to celebrate Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Anniversary they have Silver Anniversary at Sea this summer.
Plus various pools, lots of recreational and entertainment options. There are even Adult Only spaces plus lounges and the spa for the 18+ guests (alcoholic or specialty drinks and spa service not included in the price of your cruise).
So much included in your cruise fare without even adding on anything extra.
But that doesn’t help you decide which is right for you.
Time of the Year
For many people their vacation time is only at select times of the year.
That is typically the best place to start.
Departure Ports/Length of Cruise
Disney Cruise Line has 18 different departure ports around the world in their current schedules with cruise lengths from 2 to 14 nights.
Those two choices narrow your choices greatly.
Although, maybe this isn’t your 1st Disney cruise and you want to choose your cruise by different criteria.
Special Themed Cruises
Such as one of the special themed cruises.
Marvel Day at Sea – has a special cruising day at sea where you can meet Marvel movie characters plus there is special Marvel entertainment and a Marvel themed menu.
Pixar Day at Sea – incredibly similar to the Marvel Day at Sea but with Pixar characters and entertainment.
Halloween on the High Seas – has a special day at sea where you’ll find your favorite Disney characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes with themed entertainment. Plus your Halloween cruise wouldn’t be complete without some yummy treats.
Very Merrytime Cruise – You can enjoy celebrate the joy of the sea on a Very Merrytime Cruise where the ship is decorated for the holidays, complete with a tree in the main atrium.
Plus Disney character are dressed in their holiday finery while there are holiday entertainment, crafts and snacks. Of course, no Christmas sailing would be complete without Santa & Mrs Claus.
Silver Anniversary at Sea – these cruises will include Silver Anniversary character costumes, entertainment, culinary creations and merchandise.
