Vancouver Cruise Ship Terminal is Scheduled for a Record Season
The 2023 cruise ship season officially begins on April 12th and Vancouver is ready.
One of the world’s top cruise destinations, Vancouver is scheduled for a record cruise season.
The Canada Place cruise ship terminal (located in Downtown Vancouver) anticipates 331 cruise ship visits and potentially 1.3 million passengers from Disney Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, and more.
This 2023 schedule will set an all-time record.
Record-Breaking Numbers
The cruise ship industry is recovering from the pandemic and doing well with increasing numbers of ships and passengers.
In 2022, cruise lines were still operating at reduced capacity due to health and safety measures. The Canada Place terminals saw 307 cruises and approximately 815,000 passengers last year.
As travel returns to normal, the cruise industry is gaining even more momentum in 2023.
Mandy Chan, the manager of cruise services at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, shared her enthusiasm in an article with The Daily Hive.
“Vancouver continues to be one of the world’s top cruise destinations and an award-winning homeport, and we are gearing up for another big season. Last year’s return to cruise was a comeback story for a valued industry that supports many regional tourism and hospitality businesses.
“We look forward to working with our industry partners on further enhancing the passenger experience through our world-class cruise terminal and city.”
2023 Cruise Ship Season
Cruise ship season truly picks up in May, where one ship per day is anticipated for Canada Place through October. Many dates are scheduled for two to three ship visits.
