MickeyBlog Sets Sail to Disney’s Castaway Cay for a Dreamy Island Day
The MickeyBlog team was recently invited on a magical adventure aboard the Disney Dream by the Walt Disney Company.
There, they indulged in all of the fun-filled activities the ship offers. But a stop at Castaway Cay, the stunning private island owned by Disney, has added to this amazing journey. Let’s take a look at all the fun that can be had when you set sail to Disney’s Castaway Cay!
It is a whole day of fun, sun, and Disney magic! There is plenty to see and do across the island, including shops, bars, activities, and character meet-and-greets.
Castaway Cay Snorkeling
Our team started the day by heading to the beach and snorkeling in a gorgeous blue lagoon.
All-day snorkel rentals, where you receive a mask, snorkel, vest, and fins, start at $18 for children (ages 5 to 9) and $34 for adults (ages 10 and up).
You can rent your snorkeling gear at Gil’s Fins and Boats or Flippers and Floats on the island. You’ll also receive a brief instruction before heading out on your own.
You can come and go as you wish while visiting the 22-acre lagoon – just be sure to bring your gear back at the end of the day!
Castaway Cay Heads Up Bar
We also stopped by the Heads Up Bar for delicious libations. Beyond drinks, it is also a great spot for picturesque and Instagram-worthy photos.
Blue skies, perfect weather, and a cool drink make us want to go back!
Castaway Cay Shopping
Our MickeyBlog team found some beachy merchandise that fits the getaway theme of Castaway Cay. These beach ball Mickey ears with the Disney Cruise Line logo are so vibrant!
If you want to beat the heat, we found these Olaf and Sven sipper cups that will quench your thirst.
You can enjoy complimentary soda and water at many locations throughout the island.
Can we talk about how on-point this Castaway Cay front-tie t-shirt is?
It features notable icons on the island in an allover pattern on a light, white fabric.
Of course, no merch haul would be complete without a Castaway Cay spirit jersey!
Touring Around Castaway Cay
Did you know you can mail your loved ones postcards and letters from the island? While the office might not be open all day, there is a drop box where you can mail a stamped postcard or letter.
If you need a stamp, visit the Guest Services Desk before disembarking.
We love this hidden reference to current Disney CEO Bob Iger.
There is so much to see and do on this private island that it is hard to pack it into one day!
There is sightseeing, beach time, a private adult area, lunch, and more.
We love that Jessie and Kristen could spend a well-deserved excursion at Castaway Cay while onboard the Disney Dream.
