4 Things to Consider Before Visiting Disney100: The Exhibition
Disney World isn’t the only place to experience the magic of Disney right now.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse attend the World Premiere opening event for Disney100: The Exhibition at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. The exhibition opened to the public on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Disney100: The Exhibition is now open at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA, and you can experience Walt Disney as a hologram, 23 “crown jewel” artifacts, Disney film artwork, costumes, and props, and lots more, but before you plan a trip to check out the exhibit, we wanted to share a few things you might want to consider.
The Crowds
During our visit on Saturday, February 18th, we countered huge crowds. We’re talking difficult-to-maneuver-through level of crowds.
When you consider the fact that it was the first day of the exhibit and a weekend, crowds make sense, but it was intense.

You’ll probably encounter crowds
It took quite a long time to get through the exhibit due to the crowding, and navigating through the crowd was difficult, too. It took us almost 10 minutes just to get a photo of this Cinderella Castle model!

We recommend visiting on weekdays if you want to avoid crowds, but keep in mind that you may encounter crowds at this exhibit regardless of the day.
Plan for Time
When you purchase a ticket for the exhibition, you also select the date and time you can enter the exhibit.
You can purchase a daytime ticket for both the museum and the Disney100 exhibit for $45, or choose an evening ticket for only the Disney100 exhibit on select dates for $25.

We spent about an hour and a half in the exhibit and could have spent far more time, and another MickeyBlogger spent about two hours.
If you really want to enjoy everything in the exhibit, we recommend planning to spend at least two hours.

So much to see
Keep in mind that if you have young kids or you select a time slot toward the end of the day, you might not be able to spend as much time in the exhibit as you want.
Technology Issues
Considering we visited on the exhibit’s first day, it was surprising to find many interactive exhibits already malfunctioning.
Video history tables located in several different areas had rotating dials that weren’t working, and an interactive display book had ripped pages that fell onto the floor.

The dials barely worked
These issues will likely be resolved going forward but keep in mind that you may not be able to enjoy every interactive experience the exhibit has to offer.
Young Kids May Get Bored
While there are a lot of fun images and displays to see, young kids may get bored if you want to read every single placard, especially if they can’t read yet.
If you really want to read everything and take your time soaking in all the details, we recommend leaving your young kiddos at home.

There’s a lot to read!
Disney100: The Exhibition will be located at The Franklin Institute until August 27th and in Munich, Germany beginning on April 18th. The exhibit will appear in museums around the world through 2028, so watch for it to arrive near you!
