Kevin Feige Reveals That One Star Joining The MCU Is A “Dream Come True”
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly seen its share of stars over the years. From Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man movie, through Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Michele Pfeiffer in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, you would think that Marvel head Kevin Feige would be immune to star power.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige admitted that their is one star entering the MCU that is truly a dream come true.

The Newest Star To Join the MCU
Harrison Ford will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he appears in next year’s Captain America: New World Order. The veteran actor will be assuming the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from the late William Hurt.

According to Feige, adding Ford to the MCU was a long time coming.
“This has been a dream for years, ever since Jon Favreau cast Harrison Ford in Cowboys and Aliens,” Feige explained. “I was always very jealous of that, so to have him finally in the MCU is just incredible. It’s like, I can cross that off the wish list.”

The President of the United States?
For his turn as Thunderbolt Ross, Ford will be in a familiar role- President of the United States.
“[Harrison is] tireless with the amount of work that he does,” Feige said. “This is certainly a big part for Thaddeus Ross. He’s the president of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger.”

The new film will pit President Ross and Sam Wilson against each other.
“They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible,” Feige explains.

Harrison Ford’s Reaction
For his part, Harrison Ford explained the fun other actors have had in the MCU movies they made enticed him to join.
“I thought, ‘Everybody else seems to be having a great time,'” Ford told The Hollywood Reporter. “I watch all these terrific actors having a good time.” He added, “I like doing something different to what I’ve ever done and pleasing people with it. So I’ll try a piece of that.”
