Construction Progress Cooking Along Nicely for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Hey folks!
Who’s ready for an update from the most exciting and talked-about construction site in the Magic Kingdom?
Our MickeyBloggers are, of course, over in Frontierland right now, where progress on transforming the former Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming along nicely.
Or, should we say, cooking along nicely?
Recent updates from Disney have brought us more information into the narrative of this highly-anticipated attraction, which we know will combine the princess Tiana’s signature love for cooking and culinary delights with her passion for her community, which is what has brought her to the aging salt mine that stands so proud and iconic in this area of the Magic Kingdom.
Signage advertising “Tiana’s Foods” have been up on the construction walls around the area for a few days now, too, so you could say that the excitement is so palpable, you can almost taste it!
But, construction walls and foodie signage aside, let’s take a look at what else is going on in this hive of construction activity…
While the bulk of the Splash Mountain facade has been removed, including statues of Br’er Rabbit and Br’er Bear, we can still peek the main attraction sign in place over the “standby entrance” to the former attraction. The Frontierland station area remains mostly the same, too, from what we can see over those towering construction walls!
However, if we crane our necks and look right to the top of the mountain, we can clearly make out the bright blue canopy of scaffolding erected around the peak. From a distance, we can see further metallic barriers in place in the middle of the mountain, too, right where boats would come rushing out of the flume.
Moving back from the mountain, we can see that the entire “river” of the attraction has been drained, with the flume’s rails and mechanisms clearly visible in the dried-out track.
We’re happy to see that construction workers are clearly enjoying working in this beautiful sunny weather, but wish we knew more about what specifically they’re working on under that bridge!
That’s your update for today! In conclusion, it looks like a lot has been done, especially when you consider that Splash Mountain only closed to guests less than a month ago.
As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we continue to closely monitor the attraction’s progress, and eagerly await the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024!
