Blizzard Beach Closed Today at Walt Disney World
Guests hoping to splash, soak, and sled at Disney’s Blizzard Beach this week should note that the park is closed today, due to low temperatures.
The forecasted low temperatures around Orlando have led to Disney making the decision to temporarily close this park to guests, with “No Times Available” currently showing on My Disney Experience and on the Walt Disney World website.
Notably, neighboring water parks including Aquatica and Volcano Bay have also closed today, for the same, cold-weater reason. It looks like it’ll be dry adventures on the schedule for vacationing families in Orlando today!
Ironically, Blizzard Beach brands itself as being “frosty fun for the whole family,” with a recent refurbishment bringing plenty of Frozen-themed fun into the park for guests to enjoy.
Despite the juxtaposition of its cold-weather theming, it’s hard to enjoy an Orlando waterpark in the cold, which is why the closure is necessary for the safety and comfort of guests.
Typhoon Lagoon, meanwhile, is also closed at Walt Disney World, but for a different reason. This park is currently in the midst of its period of annual closure for refurbishment and, although it has not been confirmed when it will reopen, we can hope it will be in plenty of time for the busy “peak” seasons of spring and summer at Walt Disney World.
This time last year, it was Blizzard Beach that was closed for refurbishment, but Typhoon Lagoon was experiencing periods of unplanned closure due to bouts of cold weather!

Right now, we know that Blizzard Beach will be closed all through today, Monday 13th February. At the time of writing, the calendar is showing that the park is scheduled to resume usual February opening hours of 10am-5pm from tomorrow and for the rest of the week, but we will closely monitor this in case of any further disruption.
