How to Navigate New MK Traffic Pattern, and Ongoing Polynesian/Palm and Magnolia Construction
Driving around the Magic Kingdom area is a very different experience than it was just a few weeks ago.
With the completion of the new traffic bridge on top of multiple ongoing construction projects, there are some significant changes to the routes we’ve all become familiar traversing.
New MK Bridge
If you’ve visited Magic Kingdom anytime in the last 5 years, you will have noticed major construction happening to the left of the iconic toll plaza. Now, the bridge is finally complete…as are new traffic patterns that might be confusing for long-time visitors.
Now, guests visiting the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, or the Palm and Magnolia Golf courses are directed over the new bridge before the toll plaza.
New blue signs have been added to help with the new pattern. If you’re visiting for the first time in awhile- be aware!
Polynesian DVC and Palm/Magnolia Construction
While the area around Magic Kingdom’s toll plaza is complete, the construction projects by the Speedway, Polynesian, and Palm/Magnolia course are far from finished.
The Speedway traffic pattern construction, paired with the Polynesian DVC construction, has been causing major traffic delays recently (pictured above).
With diverted traffic, construction vehicles constantly crossing the road, and guests having to use a temporary walkway to access the Polynesian…things are a bit congested on Floridian Way these days.
If you are visiting any other part of Disney property, we suggest driving by the Contemporary via World Drive and avoiding the Floridian Way route until the projects are complete.
