Weekend Construction Work Leaves Grand Floridian Resort Looking a Bit Confusing!
If you’re planning on visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort this week, read on.
Some recent construction works taking place this weekend have left the resort becoming a bit confusing to navigate, so it’s definitely worth noting if you’re planning on stopping by!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of the most popular and iconic resort hotels on property, and remains a fan-favorite destination for both guests and visitors every day. Not only does the venue serve as a “Disney Deluxe” hotel for those staying over, but day guests may also stop by to enjoy the world-class dining, recreation, and even spa facilities available around the resort.
It’s a big place, and that’s why this latest construction work has left us feeling a bit dizzy. Thanks to all the temporary construction walls that have been erected, getting around the outside areas of the resort feels a bit like navigating a maze right now!
On a visit this weekend, our MickeyBloggers were quite taken aback not only by the construction walls surrounding those iconic white-and-coral buildings, but also the amount of signage that had gone up to re-route footfall about the resort.
I mean, just look at all these A-frame signposts, pointing guests to various locations around the Grand Floridian. That’s an awful lot of arrows!
Around every corner, we can see these white signs pointing us in every possible direction around the resort – from the grand hotel lobby to the boat launch marina, and everywhere in-between.
Who needs maps, when you have A-frames?
This July will see the 30-year anniversary of the Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney have announced that a fair bit of refurbishment and refreshing will be going on to ensure the place looks as sparkling as ever in celebration.
There’s a good chance we’ll see a fair bit more construction around the resort over the coming months, so be sure to bear this in mind and stay tuned if you have a trip coming up.
In terms of construction currently going on around the resort, we’re glad to say that the temporary walls cover most of it from guests’ view.
That being said, there is still a fair bit of scaffolding and ongoing works still in the process against various buildings that is very visible from the walkways, including scaffolding, heavy machinery, and open walls, as evidenced by our photos.
So, if you’re planning on visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort over the coming days, be sure to pay close attention to the signage on display, advising you the best routes around the construction work.
It may be a bit of a maze right now, but don’t let it impact your trip to this spectacular resort and all it has to offer!
