PHOTOS: Check Out Disney’s Cast Member TRON Lightcycle / Run Costume Up Close!
The highly anticipated TRON Lightcycle / Run is opening soon in Magic Kingdom — and we’ve got a fun update for you!

TRON will open on April 4th, 2023, and beginning on February 3rd, previews begin for select Cast Members, with previews open for all eligible Cast Members on February 6th. And with some previews underway, we got to see the TRON Cast Member costume up close!
Cast Member TRON Costume
Cast Member Lauren was kind enough to let us see the new TRON costume and snap some photos! We’ve already seen previews of the costume as well as caught a glimpse of it from a distance, but now we get to see them up close.
The TRON costumes feature zip-front tops in black and white, with a blue geometric pattern in the center. The pants have a long white stripe down the center.

When it comes to the lore of TRON, Cast Members are referred to as “programs” while guests are “users,” and you may remember those terms from the TRON films. The ride itself is located on the “Grid,” which is where programs (and users) battled it out on light cycles.
On the back of the costumes is a spot for an “identity disc,” on which everything experienced by the wearer is recorded.

Cast Member TRON previews will last until March 3rd, 2023, after which it’s possible Disney will open up previews to Annual Passholders and/or Disney Vacation Club Members. We’ll be watching closely for any announcements!
TRON Check-in
TRON opens officially to the public on April 4th, 2023, and it will initially utilize a virtual queue instead of a standby line. There will also be an option to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane. You can read more about that by clicking here.
