Construction Update: Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom
A few days ago, we shared that a crane was spotted at a recently closed attraction. Today, construction continues on Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom.
Splash Mountain
Disney World is on top of it when it comes to this ride’s transformation. From the moment it closed, steps were taken to begin updating the Park.
Signs were promptly removed, tip boards were quickly updated, and narrations were changed onboard various experiences. Along with boarded-up walls around the ride’s perimeter, we noticed a large crane looming behind Splash Mountain’s peak a few days ago.
Our MickeyBlogger is at Magic Kingdom today, where he spotted some new construction equipment at the ride. Let’s take a look at its current status.
Construction Update
As you can see, steps have been added to Splash Mountain’s waterway.
Metal scaffolding provides safe and easy access down and across.
Yesterday, we reported that “Tiana’s Foods” signs were spotted along the boards.
For those unaware, Splash Mountain is undergoing a The Princess and the Frog retheme. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in late 2024 at both Disneyland and Disney World.
Fans are still awaiting news about Splash Mountain’s closure on the west coast. Currently, the ride is still in operation and experiencing reasonable wait times.
It’s strange to see this water ride so dry!
Although it’s dark inside, construction is indeed underway.
If you look closely, you’ll notice construction workers at the top of the plunge.
Can you spot the yellow/green vest and hard hat? Wonder what they’re working on today?
This video gives you a better look inside. You can hear the Walt Disney World Railroad in the background!
The narration onboard has been updated to reflect the coming changes. Keep following along with MickeyBlog as we bring you the latest construction updates from Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom!
