Celebrate Soulfully With NEW Flame Tree BBQ Menu Items at Animal Kingdom
February is Black History Month and Disney World is offering new items, treats, theme parks offerings and more as part of their Celebrate Soulfully soiree! With this in mind, our MickeyBloggers popped over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom where a couple of new Celebrate Soulfully menu items are now available at Flame Tree BBQ.
Now there are even more reasons to love this quick service restaurant on Discovery Island. Let’s take a look at the new items:
As you can see, we tried both the Creole-Smoked Sausage Sandwich and the Soul Cupcake.
Let’s start with the Creole-Smoked Sausage Sandwich.
As you can see from the image above, many of the Celebrate Soulfully menu items come with a backstory. For instance, did you know that Creole-smoked sausage is thought to be the result of a partnership be French and African descendants living in New Orleans back in the 18th Century?
As you can see, the Creole-Smoked Sausage Sandwich comes with Piccalilli Relish.
It is also served with a side of stewed Black-Eyed Peas.
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla said that the sausage was perfectly seasoned and that the piccalilli relish added a bit of a kick. Everything was fresh, held together and didn’t get too soggy.
Kayla wished that the Black-Eyed Peas had a bit more flavoring. Other than that, the new Celebrate Soulfully dish was perfection!
The Creole-Smoked Sausage Sandwich retails for $12.79.
The next new Celebrate Soulfully menu item at Flame Tree BBQ is the Soul Cupcake!
The Soul Cupcake starts with a vanilla cake base.
A Bananas Foster filling gives the cake an extra bit of sweetness.
Vanilla Marshmallow Buttercream tops the Soul Cupcake.
A white chocolate coin adds some decoration to this cupcake. Inspired by Celebrate Soulfully, you’ll find an image of Joe Gardner from Pixar’s Soul at his piano on the chocolate medallion.
Colorful crispy pearls give this special treat a big pop of color.
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla said that if you love other Disney cupcakes, you’re sure to love the Soul Cupcake in that its VERY sweet! The amount of Bananas Foster filling in the cupcake was pretty minimal. It had our MickeyBlogger wishing that there had been more of it.
In addition, the crispy pearls lacked the crispiness that Kayla had hoped for.
