Yesterday, the innovative entertainment company officially kicked off its centennial festivities at Disneyland Resort. Running throughout the year, Disneyland Resort will be the center of celebration that will stretch past the company’s actual diamond anniversary date: October 16th.
The Disney Details on this Iconic Wall Art
During our stop into Elias and Company, MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa spotted a decorative wall hanging reminiscent of one of Walt Disney’s most beloved television productions, “Walt Disney’s Disneyland.” The captivating show took viewers into the construction, opening, and evolution of Disney’s first theme park, Disneyland Park.
Shown nationwide beginning in the mid-1950s, “Walt Disney’s Disneyland” introduced viewers to “the Happiest Place on Earth.” The episodes aired weekly as part of “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color.” Of course, Walt Disney himself famously hosted each installment.
The mainly black-and-white wall piece embraces original artwork from the show, including the silhoutte of the park’s iconic structure, Sleeping Beauty Castle, and its Anaheim-based location.
The regal fonts used in the show’s logo find themselves perched just above a darling cartoon image of Donald Duck directing his pal, Mickey Mouse, in an episode of the anthology. The pair appear to be filming in the piece at WABC television.
The unique wall art comes ready to mount and released recently as part of the Disney Eras collection.
In the Hollywood Golden-Age themed Elias and Company, the “Walt Disney’s Disneyland” collectible retails for $74.99. We cannot wait to share more with you as the Disney100 festivities continue throughout the Disney Parks and at Disney Cruise Line over the next year.
