This Day in Disney History- January 25
Welcome back to our meandering travels through the history of the Walt Disney Company! Today we are looking at the events on this day in Disney history- January 21.
January 25th featured the debut of a classic Disney film, the return of a Disneyland parade, and finally, we had the release of a highly anticipated video game. So, let’s get going!

101 Dalmatians Premieres (1961)
On this day in 1961, Disney’s 101 Dalmatians premiered.

Disney’s 17th animated feature film, 101 Dalmatians tells the story of a litter of Dalmatian puppies who are abducted by Cruella De Vil. The puppies’ parents must save them before Cruella turns them into clothing!
Disney and Coca-Cola Sign Agreement
On this day in 1990, Disney and Coca-Cola signed an 15 year marketing agreement.

As part of the agreement, Disney will serve Coca-Cola products exclusively in its parks. Prior to the deal, Disney had served both Pepsi Cola and Coca-Cola in Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
Mickey’s Toontown Grand Opening Festivals Continue (1993)
On this day in 1993, day two of Mickey’s Toontown’s grand opening festivities took place.

Taking part in a special parade and events was Disney CEO Michael Eisner in addition to celebrities Robin Williams, Sally Fields, Dan Ackroyd, Ted Danson, Tom Selleck and Danny DeVito.
Disney’s Dreams on Parade Debuts (2004)
On this day in 2004, Disney’s Dreams on Parade began its run at Tokyo Disneyland.
The parade was created in honor of the park’s 20th anniversary celebration!
Minutemen Premiers (2008)
On this day in 2008, Minutemen premiered on the Disney Channel.

The newest Disney Channel original movie, the film told the story of three uncool high school seniors, who invent a homemade time machine.
Mickey’s Soundsational Parade Returns (2019)
On this day in 2019, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade returned to Disneyland.
Originally premiering in 2011, the parade was not performed in 2018 to make way for the Pixar Play Parade.
Kingdom Hearts III Released (2019)
Finally, on this day in 2019, Kingdom Hearts III was released on PlayStation and Xbox One.
Set after the the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D, the game features protagonist Sora joining forces with Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, and Riku as they search for the seven guardians of the light.
