Some Awesome Fun Facts About Disneyland’s Wondrous Journeys
There’s only three days to go until Wondrous Journeys, an all new evening spectacular, debuts at Disneyland Resort. This production was created in celebration of Disney’s 100th Anniversary as a tribute to a century of incredible animation. During the show, you’ll see nods to some of Walt Disney Studios’ most iconic productions!
Best of all, during Wondrous Journeys, Sleeping Beauty Castle will serve as a magnificent canvas that takes audiences on a magical journey filled with artistry music and storytelling.

When Can I See Wondrous Journeys?
The event will take place nightly at Disneyland theme park. The production will even be enhanced with sparkling fireworks on select evenings. Guests are encouraged to check the Disneyland app for updated show times.
On opening night, we can confirm from disneyland.com that Wondrous Journeys With Fireworks will make its debut at 9:35pm.

No Film Gets Left Behind
Disneyland’s new nighttime spectacular features characters and moments from EVERY film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios. That means you’ll see an eclectic array of films represented including Hercules, Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Treasure Planet, Big Hero 6 and more!

Wishes DO Come True
During Wondrous Journeys Disney will even be sharing a look at the newest film release from Walt Disney Animation Studios – Wish! The film is slated to be release in theaters on November 22, 2023 and asks the question “How did the Wishing Star come to be!?” We know that the film is set in the magical kingdom of Rosas and centers on Asha (Ariana DeBose) who turns to the sky in a moment of need and makes a wish. What happens next involves a little ball of energy called Star who will help Rosa face her foes and save her community!
Wait Until You See the Projections
Be prepared to be dazzled DIsneyland fans! Wondrous Journeys will utilize state-of-the-art projection effects to bring the journey of Walt Disney Animation Studios to life. Guests will start with blank pieces of paper, then pencil sketches, then splashes of color as the artistry of animators comes to life. Watch as beloved characters including Mickey Mouse, Bambi, Ariel, Mirabel and more are created in front of your very eyes!

The magic of Wondrous Journeys isn’t just limited to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Other primary viewing areas include Main Street U.S.A, Rivers of America and the facade of “it’s a small world.” Each of these locations promises a unique experience!
Baymax Will Take To The Skies
Move over Tinker Bell! During a climactic moment in Wondrous Journeys and set to the thumping bass from the song “Immortals” from Big Hero 6, Baymax will actually take to the skies over Disneyland Park! We’re told his rocket boosters will be propelling him into the night in an awe-inspiring moment that you won’t forget!
Butterflies In the Sky
If you’re lucky enough to be seeing Wondrous Journeys in the days or weeks ahead, be sure to count the butterflies. They appear as a recurring motif throughout the show, representing “a physical manifestation of wonder.” Butterflies show up regularly in Walt Disney Animation Studios productions from Alice in Wonderland to Encanto so it seems only fitting that they’d appear as part of Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.

“It’s Wondrous”
Tying the whole Wondrous Journeys production together is a magnificent soundtrack feature 18 Disney Songs. In addition, “It’s Wondrous”, a new song, was created especially for the productions and features music and lyrics by Duddy Brown and GRAMMY Award-winning artist Alex Geringas.
A Mighty Musical Score
As Disney previously shared in their YouTube video (see above) the musical score for Wondrous Journeys was recorded by an 80-piece orchestra. It includes 16 lead vocalists and a 33-voice choir!
