Walt Disney World Railroad Updates Splash Mountain Narration Upon Ride Closure
Disney fans said goodbye to an iconic attraction yesterday. The Walt Disney World Railroad has already made changes, with an updated narration for Splash Mountain, upon its closure.
Splash Mountain’s Closure
Mickey Blog has been keeping you updated on all things Splash Mountain as the first steps of its retheme commence. Guests came out in huge numbers this weekend to experience the original version one last time.
Disney World is on top of its game with information already removed in the Parks and online. The ride will undergo a transformation from its original Song of the South inspiration, to a The Princess and the Frog theme.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will premiere at both Disneyand and Disney World in late 2024. Our MickeyBlogger Jared is at Disney World today, and hopped on board the Walt Disney World Railroad to see what’s new!

During the Splash Mountain portion of the train ride, he noticed that the narration has already been updated. Let’s take a look at what Guests can expect from now until the retheme, when they take a trip around the Park.
As the train makes its way through the tunnel, it concludes its previous ride narration with, “Chock-full of tall tales and an even taller mountain.”
“We call it Big Thunder. Catch a ride on its runaway trains, and you’ll see why.”
Updated Narration
As the train approaches Splash Mountain, the narration transforms into its new form. It says, “On a more musical note, just ahead, I heard some new critters are moving in and looking to make a splash.”
“Take a listen, we’re almost there.”
In addition to the updated narration, walls are closed up for the Splash Mountain portion of the ride.
