FDA Recalls Disney Hand Sanitizers in Wake of China’s COVID Resurgence
The FDA is recalling 378 products, including Disney hand sanitizers, in the wake of China’s COVID resurgence.

In 2020, doctors highly encouraged the use of hand sanitizers to combat COVID-19. Afterward, the FDA warned us about particular products not to use.
China’s COVID Resurgence
Now, it’s happening again, as China experiences a resurgence of COVID. Newsweek reports that the FDA is currently advising the discontinued use of 378 different hand sanitizers.
The products came from Mexico, the U.S., China, and other countries around the globe. There are various reasons why products are recalled.
Included are irregular ingredient amounts and packaging problems. Also a factor is exposure to toxic products in the facility where they were created.
Several Disney hand sanitizers made the FDA’s recall list. Here are the products included:
Disney Hand Sanitizers
-
Disney Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer
-
Disney Princess Hand Sanitizer
-
Disney Frozen II Hand Sanitizer
-
Marvel Spiderman Hand Sanitizer
-
Star Wars Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer, (Green and Blue Gel formulas)
You can find the complete list at this link. As for those who have already been exposed to hand sanitizers containing methanol, the FDA warns to “seek immediate treatment which is critical for potential reversal of toxic effects of methanol poisoning.”
It goes on to say, “Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.”
The FDA is also addressing false advertising. It states, “Additionally, the agency is concerned with false and misleading claims for hand sanitizers, for example that they can provide prolonged protection such as 24-hours against viruses including COVID-19, since there is no evidence to support these claims.”
Since COVID was first detected in 2019, there have reportedly been over 673 million cases and 6.74 million deaths. The U.S. leads with 103 million infections and 1.1 million deaths.
In recent news, China has seen an increase in both. Make sure to take the appropriate measures, and avoid the Disney hand sanitizers recalled by the FDA.
